      Renault's Joint Venture with Dongfeng to produce electric cars

      French car maker, Renault has tied up with Chinese firm Dongfeng to produce sustainable mobility solutions for the future. The newly formed venture which will operate under Dongfeng Renault Automotive Company (DRAC) is to begin its production at the Wuhan plant soon. The first vehicle to be made will be based on the Fluence Z.E. platform.

      Reports suggest that the first working prototype has been built already. This made specifically for China car will target the domestic customers and will be sold under a new sub brand. It is not sure if the same will be exported to other countries as well.

      Also, for the soon to be held United Nation's Conference of Parties climate conference, the alliance of Renault-Nissan is the official sponsor for shuttling the guests to and from the venue locations. There would be a fleet of 200 all-electric cars to do the duty. This summit will see humongous participation from participant travelling from over 195 countries to discuss the needs of developing countries to adapting to the climate changes and also to reduce emissions.
