Renault India made another aplomb entry in the Indian market with the recent revelation of its highly anticipated small car, Pulse. It is believed that with Pulse, the car maker has followed the footsteps of its alliance partner Nissan. The car has been exposed to the Indian buyers, while the official launch would take place in January next year.

The very first glimpse of the Pulse reminds the viewers of Nissan Micra, owing to the fact that the former is a replica of the latter, except a slight facelift that finds a place in the latest car by Renault. It is equipped with the same V-platform as the Nissan Micra and uses most of the parts and panels of the Micra hatchback.

The most noticeable change in the Pulse is the completely different looking grille at the front, with a honeycomb-mesh treatment and a large, matte black slat running across the grille. The headlights of the car resemble with those of Fluence and Koleos, with the internal elements inspired from the Hyundai i10.

At the rear, one can witness familiar Micra tail lights, though with redesigned elements. The Nissan badge on the boot lid has been replaced by the diamond shaped logo and the large 'Renault' monogram, in order to offer a distinct identity to its design.

The interiors of the Renault Pulse display immense familiarity with the Micra, having the same curvaceous design all over, the round-shaped audio system, bow-hook door handles, among others. The steering also flaunts the attractive diamond logo, which increases the visibility of the brand. The rear seats are no different from that of Micra offering extra thigh support. Moreover, the top-end model gets the adjustable headrests.

The Renault Pulse is powered by the K9K diesel engine, or the 1.5-litre dCi engine that has been assembled in the current Nissan Micra and the Mahindra Logan. The K9K engine delivers a mileage of 23 km per litre for diesel. It is important to note that Renault is planning to introduce a petrol version in the coming time.

Renault India will officially launch the Pulse at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The Pulse is expected to carry a price tag slightly higher than the Nissan Micra. While Renault has not divulged any information regarding the variants, it is expected to be available in three variants. The Renault Pulse that was unveiled off late is the RxV variant that appears to be the top-of-the-line variant. The salient features that have found a place in the Pulse are auto folding mirrors, chrome internal door handles, rear cup holder and keyless entry and go. In addition, the electrically-adjustable mirrors, all four electric-windows, 15-inch alloy wheels, Bridgestone tyres 175/60-R15, dual-beam H4 headlights and beige fabric interiors add to the class of the small car.

Thus, Renault seems to strengthen its position in the country by satisfying the exclusive needs of the Indian buyers in every possible manner.
