The production-ready Fiat Aegea that was spotted testing a few weeks ago, is now revealed in a new set of spyshots. Just so you know, the vehicle made its global debut on May 21 at the 2015 Instanbul Motor Show. The Aegea will replace the aging Linea globally, though there is no clarity if it will come to India or not.
The spy images suggest that the Aegea will feature a Uconnect infotainment system with 5-inch color touchscreen display, a dashboard with silver accent flowing across it, 3-spoke steering wheel and well-arranged control buttons under the central HVAC vent. Features like voice recognition, audio streaming, USB, AUX and iPod connectivity, hands-free Bluetooth and an optional rear view camera might also be on offer. Though, the exterior design details are scarcely available. Talking about its dimensions, it will be 4.5m long, 1.7m wide and 1. 4m tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,640mm. It offers a boot capacity of 510-litre.
The Aegea will be available with two petrol and two MultiJet II turbo-diesel engines paired to a manual and an automatic transmission. These engines will offer power within the range of 95bhp to 120bhp. The highly frugal variant of the sedan is claimed to return a fuel economy of 25kmpl.
The Aegea is designed at FCA Style and Centre, Italy, while its production will take place at the company’s Bursa factory in Turkey. Fiat will export the sedan to 40 countries, spreading across Europe, Middle East and Africa. In International markets, the Fiat Aegea will take on the likes of Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna, Dacia Logan and Peugeot 301.
