Porsche, the German auto maker, has released the first look of the compact crossover SUV based on the Audi Q5, whose deliveries are lined up in the mid of the calendar 2013. The major revelation made by the firm is the name of the mini SUV - ‘Macan’, earlier known as Cajun. The SUV’s name, Macan, is an Indonesian name for Tiger, symbolizing attractive and dashing looks with power pact performance drives.

Mr. Bernhard Maier, Sales Chief, Porsche SE, said while commenting on naming the mini SUV, "The name of a new Porsche has to fit with the brand, sound good in very many languages and dialects and evoke positive associations." He further remarked that the compact SUV is a “genuine Porsche” that uniquely combines the feel of a sports car with the ride of an SUV.
