Porsche has launched two vehicles,Boxterand Cayman at the 2014 Beijing International Motor Show. Both, Boxter and Cayman have been launched in Grand Turismo Sport guise, these are the more steadfast versions in the line-up of the respective vehicles. Porsche Boxter GTS will be offered at 52,879 GBP equal to Rs. 54 lakh and Porsche Cayman GTS will be made available for 55,397 GBP, around 56.5 lakh in UK market.
Commenting on the unveiling of Boxter and Cayman GTS variants, Mr. Matthias Muller, Porsche Board Chairman who was also present at the event said, “Porsche is a renowned brand known to offer luxurious two door sports cars, the two door sports cars are the foundation for our models.” He further said that Porsche is focusing on its roots and launch of newBoxterand Cayman vehicles inGTSguise proves that. He also said that both the vehicles will be positioned as the top most offerings in the line-up, each the most robust and fastest car living up to the brand’s name.
Mechanically, these two beasts have been bettered to yield enhanced power and torque output. Boxter GTS is housed with a 3.4 litre powertrain that belts out maximum power of 325 Bhp at 6,700 RPM increased by 14.8 Bhp and 370 Nm of top torque enhanced by 10 Nm. Whereas Cayman is packed with a 335 Bhp motor that yields 380 Nm of peak torque. The mighty engine enables the Boxter GTS to sprint from zilch to 100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds and attain a top speed of 278 kmph. On the other hand Cayman GTS does 100 kmph from rest in 4.6 seconds only and touches a top speed of 283 kmph. Boxter GTS and Cayman GTS are being proffered with an option of seven-speed PDK transmission.
Besides these, both the vehicles are equipped with Porsche Active Safety Management (PASM) and Sports Chrono Package. Both the cars have undergone few cosmetic changes including bi-xenon head lamps, 20-inch alloy wheels contributing to the masculinity of the vehicles,black chrome exhaust pipes, black inserts on the front bumper and various other changes.
