Under the hood is a 3.0 litre SDV6 diesel powertrain along with a 35 KW electric motor. An eight-speed ZF automatic transmission is equipped in the vehicle. The collective output of diesel mill and electric motor stands at 340 PS of top power at 4,000 RPM and 700 Nm of pinnacle torque between 1,500 to 3,000 RPM. The vehicle promises to deliver a fuel economy of 15.62 kmpl in the UK driving conditions with CO2 emission of 169 g/km. The vehicle propels from 0 to 100 kmph in hybrid mode in just 6.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 218 kmph.

Driver has the option to ride in three different modes for maximum efficiency and performance. The Terrain Response system and all-wheel drive technology used by the hybrid system has been borrowed from the petrol and diesel engined variants.

The electric motor engenders 170 Nm torque, it enables increased acceleration if required and also enables to drive the car in electric vehicle mode. Besides operating these functions, the motor also acts as a generator, accumulating kinetic energy via regenerative braking, charging the battery when required. Range Rover Hybrid runs at the speed of up to 48 kmph in EV mode for a confined range of 1.6 kms, prior to the onset of diesel engine.
