According to Jean-Marc Gales, Peugeot’s Director General, the company may put its electric BB1 concept car into production. The decision will be taken by the company in next four months. The Peugeot BB1, a cross between a scooter and a car, has two electric motors, one in each rear wheel, and the silver prototype BB1 had residents and tourists stopping to take a closer peek when it rolled into Paris.

The BB1 is Peugeot’s "urban mobility project." It is a full-electric four-seater that measures a mere 98.4 inches in length. The car is 8ft 2 in length and features a lithium ion battery powered drive line, with a two wheel electric motor. It will also have carbon-fiber body which may make the model a little expensive. It will have a range of 120 kms on full charge. However, since the car will be placed under quadric-cycle rules this would mean cheaper insurance and taxes.

Peugeot is promoting the car with a sense of humour. For example, one of its ads read as “Its grandfather was a pepper mill." Peugeot boasts of more than 15,000 Facebook fans within 3 days of its Facebook fan page launch. Here is one of the cheeky commercials from the company:
