Nissan left everyone agape on the first day of Tokyo Auto Show with its new addition to its GT-R series of cars. The updated 2010 GT-R includes a revised navigation system, recalibrated suspension settings and an improved-flow catalyst system. The car will be on sale in Japan from December 07.

Nissan senior vice president Andy Palmer also stated that an education programme for customers will start next year which will go mainstream in 2012. Nissan dealers thus have two years to teach the public about its many advantages, and convince them to overcome their range anxiety.

"The competition of zero-emission cars started," said Nissan Motor CEO Carlos Ghosn at Tokyo Motor Show 2009, announcing that the company is planning to launch three electric vehicles (EVs). Nissan will launch its completely zero-emission model Leaf by mid-2010.

Nissan also intends to launch a small business-use EV based on NV200 model. It is expected to be used as a van, cab, ambulance and other transportation vehicles, the company said. The Infiniti brand EV is a small four-seater whose appearance will be disclosed in the near future.
