      Nissan to raise Micra and Sunny models prices by up to Rs 12,000

      Nissan India, the Indian arm of the leading Japanese car maker Nissan Motors, has announced to hike the prices of two of its portfolio cars including compact hatchback Micra and mid-size sedan Sunny, from today. The prices of both of these cars have been raised in the range of 0.56 per cent to 2.09 per cent. The company has blamed the rising input material costs and depreciating rupee for this hike.

      Speaking on the latest price rise of the Nissan’s India portfolio cars, Nissan Motor India managing director, Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama, said, "The rising input costs and depreciating rupee have left us with no option but to revisit the prices of our models in order to maintain our business momentum."

      After this hike, the price tags of the all three variants of Nissan Micra hatchback will go up by Rs 3,000. At present, the Nissan Micra petrol is available in the price segment of Rs 4.10 lakh and Rs 5.38 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, the diesel version of the Nissan Micra model will see a price hike of Rs 12,000. The Nissan Micra Diesel is currently available in the price segment of Rs 5.72 lakh and Rs 6.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

      The petrol versions of Nissan Sunny, which are available in the price segment of Rs 5.78 lakh and Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), will see a hike of Rs 5,000.

      However, the diesel versions of the car, which are available in the range of Rs 7.98 lakh and Rs 8.78 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), has been exempted from this hike.
