      Nissan reports 48% increase in June sales

      Japanese car-maker Nissan has been a strong brand in the Indian market. Prior to Nissan Micra launch in the hatchback segment, the car-maker had been known for its quality cars in the SUV segment. Recently launched Go hatchback from Datsun which is also a part of Nissan, has proved to be beneficial for the company.

      As per the sales report released by the company, Nissan Motor India Private Ltd. (NMIPL) has noted about 48% increase in sales for the month of June as compared to the same month in the previous year. In terms of numbers the company sold about 4,362 units in June as against 2,949 unit sales reported in 2013. Some amount of credit in the rise in sales numbers also goes to Datsun Go hatchback, wherein it has sold about 1,097 units in June, thereby taking the overall Datsun sales in the country to about 5,780 units for the first quarter of FY14 .

      The brand expects the numbers to end on a good for this month too, as the new Sunny sedan is due for launch this week in the country. Nissan will continue to offer Sunny sedan with the same set of petrol and diesel engine options which includes a 1.5 litre petrol engine capable of producing a maximum power output of 98 PS while the diesel variants will be powered with a 1.5 litre K9K diesel motor that churns out a peak power of 85 PS. Nissan Sunny shall be offered in manual and automatic variants, automatic trim will be equipped with a XTRONIC CVT. Pricing details are expected to be released by the company during its launch.
