Nissan India is riding high on the success of its low cost brand Datsun that currently offers GO hatchback in India. The company is now gearing up to launch tweaked versions of its models from current line-up including Sunny sedan and Evalia MPV. Both the vehicles were showcased at the 12th edition of Delhi Motor Show held in the month of February this year. It has been learnt from the close sources that Nissan has planned Sunny and Evalia launch a few weeks apart. The new avatar of seven seater MPV will be launched in India by August or September just a few weeks after Sunny sedan launch.

The lukewarm response received for Evalia MPV made the auto maker roll out a facelift version last year, though it failed to impress the customers. Nissan had equipped additional features in the MPV including slide type middle row windows, sliding/reclining captain seats for the middle row, roof mounted AC vents, rear wiper and washer, 15-inch wheels (upgraded from 14-inch), closed glovebox, USB function for the music system and an anti-glare internal rear view mirror.

The upcoming model of Evalia is expected to sport a number of upgrades in the exterior and interior front. Among the exterior upgrades a modified front grille and a chrome insert on the tailgate are likely to be seen. Slight changes have been made inside the cabin also, though overall the sedan does not sport too many tweaks.

Mechanically, the car will remain same, a 1.5 litre K9k engine pumping out a top power of 86 PS and a peak torque output of 200 Nm will be housed. A five-speed manual transmission will be coupled to the engine.
