The E 250 CDI diesel is incorporated with a V4 engine, having a displacement of 2143 cc. This drivetrain produces a maximum power of 201 bhp, with a peak torque of 500 Nm. Equipped with a performance oriented engine, E 250 CDI diesel smoothly sprints from 0-100 kmph in 7.5 seconds. Besides, the E 200 CGI petrol powertrain has a displacement of 1991 cc and it generates a highest power of 135 bhp with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. With this output, the model easily glides from initial to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds.

Industry experts are of a view that E-Class has been one of the significant models for the auto maker as the brand with three pointed star has already delivered its 23,000 units in India, since its launch in 1995. The recently launched model has been designed with over 2,000 components and parts, entailing innovative technologies internally as well as externally. In order to face off the competition from indigenous auto makers, Audi and BMW, Mercedes-Benz already launched its A-Class premium hatchback and has now come up with its much appreciated E-Class sedan.

One of the key highlights of the new model is 'intelligent assist system', which houses features like 'Eco start stop' for enhanced mileage, 'intelligent lighting' for perfect light distribution and 'attention assist', which continuously warns the driver about drowsiness and inattentiveness.
