The Ertiga MPV from Maruti Suzuki has been one of the leading players in its segment. Suzuki had recently unveiled the new model in Indonesia and as stated by Zigwheels, the MPV is expected to be launched in India on 10th October, 2015. Apart from interior and exterior upgrades, sources have revealed that the MPV shall get an automatic transmission apart from the anticipated SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) micro-hybrid system.
Though the new Maruti Ertiga would be powered by the existing engine options, it shall be tweaked to deliver improved mileage efficiency figures. Under the hood, it shall be powered by 1.4-litre K14 petrol engine that generates about 91.73bhp of power. The diesel variant would be powered by 1.3-litre DDiS engine with tweaks to deliver improved efficiency figures. Apart from the five-speed manual transmission, the vehicle shall also be offered with automatic transmission.
In terms of design upgrades, the new Ertiga gets new front bumper with chrome inserts, wider front chrome grill, new alloy wheel design, electric folding wing mirrors and thick chrome bar at the rear between the tail lamps. As for the interiors, it shall get keyless entry, new upholstery, driver-side window auto-up function, climate control and SmartPlay infotainment system.
