Jaguar, Tata Motors owned British luxury carmaker, is working on the next-generation Jaguar XF sedan. The vehicle is likely to make its global debut at the 2015 New York Motor Show scheduled in April. The British maker has recently introduced the much-awaited XE sedan, which is likely to enter India in the second half of 2015. Now, the company is readying the next generation XF sedan to take on the likes of the Audi A6, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the BMW 5-Series.

If media reports are to be believed, Jaguar’s entire lineup is likely to get the new family face something that we have already seen on the XE saloon. The next XF is likely to get more aggressive creases running across the car, while the front fascia will get the XE-like grille but in bigger size. Inside, the next XF will get Jaguar’s new infotainment system that comprises of InControl Apps system and voice recognition packages.

Like the XE sedan, the new Jaguar XF will be based on the all-aluminium iQ[AI] platform which will also underpin other future Jaguars. This flexible and scalable platform was first showcased by the company in the C-X17 crossover concept in 2013. It will help the company to make the next XF lighter than its predecessor, which in return offers high fuel economy and performance. Adding to it, the new sedan will get the JLR’s new Ingenium range of engines. The India launch for the next generation Jaguar XF could take place by early 2016.
