Swedish luxury car manufacturer, Volvo has recently unveiled the 2nd generation Volvo XC90, which will enter our shores by mid-2015. The flagship SUV will go on sale in select international markets in the first half of 2015, while the India launch would take place by mid-2015. It is based on Volvo’s new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA), which will also underpin future range of Volvo cars and SUVs.
The Volvo XC90 SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. Both engines will get turbochargers and use 4 cylinder layouts. The new Drive E engine family would power the vehicle, which is claimed to be highly fuel efficient and emits lower emissions. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit is capable of developing 225bhp of power and 470Nm of torque, while the gasoline motor is good for 320bhp and 400Nm of torque.
The new Volvo XC90 gets all-new interiors and exteriors. The interiors of the SUV get an all-new design and high quality materials. There is a brand new infotainment system that comprises of touch screen, new music system, Bluetooth, USB and other connectivity options. The seven-seater XC90 SUV will come as a CBU (Completely Built-Up unit) unit. The next model is expected to be equipped with several advanced features and is likely to be priced around Rs. 60-65 lakh.
