Based on the new MLB Evo platform, the next generation Audi Q7 seems grown in size. The vehicle looks wider than the current model, while the height has been reduced. The 2016 SUV gets sharp edges and aggressive curves, and appears less bulky than previous model. The front fascia of the SUV features Audi’s single-frame grille which is flanked by a redesigned Matrix LED headlights. Its rear-end features new tail lamps in square shape, which seems inspired from other Audi’s including the A6 and A8 saloon.

The interiors of the 2016 Audi Q7 shares its components and design layout with the new TT. The steering wheel and fully digital instrument cluster is sourced from the new TT. It features a retractable multi-media screen, new air conditioning vents, touchpad that works on fingertip gestures, a throttle-like gearlever, etc. The SUV is reportedly 300kg lighter than the previous model, making it more responsive and efficient. The next crossover will get six- and eight-cylinder TFSI and TDI engines, while a plug-in hybrid variant is also on card.

The next generation 2016 Audi Q7 is likely to be launched in Europe by second quarter of 2015, while the India sale is expected to commence by 2015 end or early 2016.
