      New Bajaj Avenger in the works; launch likely in late 2015

      Bajaj Auto, the homegrown bikemaker, is planning to launch a bunch of new bikes in the country in coming months.The company is planning to launch new Pulsar range that includes 150NS, 200SS, 400SS, CS400 and Adventure Sport 200. Moreover, the company is also planning to introduce the updated version of the Avenger cruiser in the market. First launched in 2005, the Avenger has received a total 3 updates in its 10 years long journey. The company launched the current model in 2010, which is now four years old and is asking for a makeover. The updated bike is expected to receive both the styling and mechanical upgrades.

      The Bajaj Avenger facelift is likely to be launched in the second half of 2015. The updated bike is expected to get a 200cc engine that also powers the Pulsar 200 NS. However, the company is yet to announce the exact launch details and mechanical and other upgrades to be offered in the car.

      The current Avenger is powered by the 220cc engine that churns out a maximum power output of 18.7bhp. Interestingly, the 220cc engine is more powerful and fuel efficient than the 220cc motor. The 200cc engine is capable of producing a top power output of 23.5bhp, which is around 5bhp more than the former. Talking about exterior upgrades, the cruiser is expected to get slightly modified elements in the form of new graphics, fuel tank, seats and front.
