      India-bound Suzuki Vitara SUV launched in UK

      Suzuki, the Japanese automaker, has launched the Vitara SUV in the United Kingdom. The vehicle prices start at 13,999 GBP (INR 13.44 lakhs) and goes up to 21,299 GBP (INR 21.11 lakhs). The SUV is also likely to make its way to Indian market, but not before 2017. First unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the Vitara SUV is expected to be offered in both 1.6-litre petrol and diesel fuel options.

      The 1.6L four-cylinder petrol engine is capable of producing a top power output of 120bhp and a peak torque of 156Nm, while the oil burner is good for 120bhp and 320Nm of top torque. A five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission will be offered with petrol engine, while the diesel engine is paired to a six-speed manual geabhrbox. The transmissions send power to the front wheels of the SUV, while an optional all-wheel drive system will also be on offer.

      Talking about features, the SUV has seven airbags, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, keyless entry with an engine start button, panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, radar-based brake system, LED projector headlamps, etc. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to either 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels. The Vitara SUV is equipped with several safety features such as light, impact absorbing body, speed limiter, Electronic Stability Programme, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, seven airbags, etc.
