      Competition gets stiffer when two Indian Auto giants compete against each other within the same segment. Tata Motors has recently ushered in a new Utility vehicle named Movus in two trim variants namely - CX and LX. The vehicle is available in flexible in seven, eight and nine seater trims with seating options like front facing, side-facing and Captain seats. Ertiga MUV from the Maruti Suzuki stable has been a popular pick in the country. The seven seater comes with flexi seating option that has been ergonomically designed for maximum comfort.

      The Ertiga MUV from Maruti Suzuki is available in Petrol, Diesel and CNG variant. The petrol version is powered by 1373 cc K-Series Petrol VVT engine that generates about 95 Ps of power with 130 Nm of torque. The diesel version gets a 1248 cc DDiS Diesel engine that generates about 90 Ps of power with 200 Nm of torque. The CNG variant is powered by 1373 cc K-Series Petrol VVT engine that generates about 82 Ps of power with 110 Nm of torque. For the interiors, the Ertiga MUV gets a sporty dashboard, chrome door handles and stylish meter cluster. The occupant area looks elegant and is designed for maximum comfort. You can choose your favorite music from play list using steering audio controls. Comfort for the rear seat passengers is also ensured with a second row armrest and 2nd row Ac system with controllers.

      On the Exterior front the MUV has received aerodynamic styling, stylish cluster headlamps that are well complimented with the built-in fog lamps near the bumper. Sides are adorned with smart looking alloy wheels and stylish side view mirrors. The rear section of the Ertiga MPV is adorned with classic styled tail-lamps. Maruti Suzuki has payed due attention to the safety factor with use of high tensile steel positioned strategically at vital sections in the chassis for maximum rigidity and strength. The MPV is loaded with ABS and EBD system for complete control during sudden braking situations. Six of the occupants in the car are secured with 3-point ELR seatbelt, whereas the middle seat in the second row gets a 2-point lap belt. Moreover, the front occupants gets pre-tensioners and force limiters. The front seat passengers also gets SRS Airbags that provide with ample protection in case of a crash. The base petrol version of Ertiga is priced at Rs. 6,24,271.

      Movus UV is packed with a 2.2 litre VARICOR engine that engenders a maximum power output of 120 PS along with a peak torque of 250 Nm. As per company officials, the MPV promises to offer segment best pick-up and fuel economy of about 15.16 kmpl. Moreover, the vehicle has been smartly designed with ground clearance of about 180 mm, thereby making it easy for passengers to enter and exit the vehicle. Tata Motors is proffering engine warranty of three years or 150,000 kms whichever comes earlier on new Movus. Suspension has been tuned to work effortlessly on erratic surfaces. In the front, an independent double wishbone with coil springs and at the rear a parabolic leaf spring-type suspension has been fitted. Movus comes with a considerably large fuel tank capacity of 65 litres and an eminent load carrying capacity.

      The three rowed UV has a 2550 mm of wheelbase which allows ample space in the third row along with comfortable legroom for the passengers sitting at the rear. Ground clearance of 180 mm makes it easy for passengers for entering and exiting the vehicle. Movus’s low turning radius of 5.35 meters and tilt-able power steering system allows easy maneuverability amid thick traffic conditions. Tata is offering new Movus UV in two color options- Porcelain White and Meteor Silver. The company claims that Movus demands low servicing and maintenance cost. Tata Movus is launched at a starting price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
