Buoyed by the excellent response for the Celerio AMT and Alto K10 AMT, Maruti Suzuki India is planning more products with AMT gearbox for the Indian car market. The company has recently introduced the new Alto K10 with AMT gearbox as an option. Now, the maker is also planning to add AMT gearbox to its other existing products including WagonR.

With the growing demand for AMT cars; car manufacturers including MSI are contemplating more AMT equipped cars in India. If media reports are to be believed, Mahindra and Tata Motors are also planning to launch new AMT equipped cars. The upcoming Quanto MPV will also get AMT gearbox, while the Bolt hatchback is also likely to get AMT cars.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10

Renault’s answer to the likes of WagonR and Alto K10, the XBA small car is also likely to get AMT variant. MSI is also contemplating a series of new products in the country including SX4 S-Cross and XA Alpha based sub-4 metre SUV. The company might also launch the Wagon R diesel in the country; however, nothing concrete on the same has been revealed. MSI is also working on the diesel avatar of the Celerio hatchback. The same engine would also power the Wagon R diesel.
