      Mitsubishi Has Expansion Plans for India

      Major auto makers of the world have expansion plans in their kitty in India. Mitsubishi is also planning to quadruple its car production capacity in India.

      Vice-President and South Business Head, YVS Vijay Kumar from Mitsubishi addressed the media person that production of luxury cars in India would be increased to 24,000 per annum from its current capacity of 6000 cars per annum.

      Mitsubishi opened yet another dealership in Secunderabad. Vijay Kumar was in the city to inaugurate the Raima Motors dealership from Mitsubishi and Hindustan Motors. “Inauguration of Raima Motors delaership is one of many steps the company is taking towards scaling up operations. Some of these include opening seven dealerships across India, in a short span of two months", he added.

      HM Mitsubishi is joint venture between India auto car maker Hindustan Motors and Japanese car maker Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. It also opened another showroom in Srushti Automotive in Pune earlier in this month.

      Now there are 43 showrooms from Mitsubishi in India. It plans to open 50 showrooms by the end of 2008. The new dealerships shall showcase all the current models from Mitsubishi ranging from Lancer, Cedia, Pajero and Montero.
