      Mercedes S-Class prices slashed to Rs 1.38 crore owing to local assembling of the saloon

      Mercedes Benz India has started assembling new S-Class saloon locally at its manufacturing unit located in Chakan, Pune. The high end version of S Class, S 500, is particularly garnering excellent response due to which the company decided on assembling the saloon at its manufacturing unit in India. Local manufacturing indicates at slashed prices of S-Class which is now available at Rs 1.38 crore as against the launch price of Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai).The luxury car maker has also initiated a ‘ChauffeurTraining Program’ under which the company will train chauffeurs of its S-Class customers on soft spoken skills and using the features equipped inside the cabin.

      The company decided on local assembling of the new S-Class routing to India through CBU after looking at the rising demand for the car since the company sold 125 units of inventory within 16 days of launch. Bookings for the new S 500 have also commenced, however, deliveries of the new batch will start from June.

      Mercedes’ChauffeurTraining Program is a distinctive initiative that consists of 21 modules and a multilingual program which chauffeurs of S-Class from every nook and corner of India can undergo. The chauffeurs under this training will be trained on using the luxury features that the S-Class comes equipped with and will also be taught to drive the luxurious saloon without putting in much effort. Besides this, the chauffeurs will also be trained on soft spoken skills, etiquette and most importantly safety measures to be taken while driving.

      In its long itinerary in India, Mercedes has offered class apart luxurious cars to the customers. The new S-Class launched in India recently lives up to the expectations of the customers. New version of Mercedes S-Class comes with a hefty price tag, however despite being pricey; the premium saloon has managed to rope in good response from the luxury car enthusiasts in India. Mercedes witnessed a high growth of 32.5% in 2013 and the company eyes to attain robust growth in India over the coming years.
