Mercedes Ener-G-Force Concept inspired Tata Xenon is outrageous

The Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force Concept was initially developed for Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge 2012, which has asked the participants to design a completely go-anywhere police vehicle designed for 2025. Ener-G-Force is designed by students who have showcased their expertise to design something that is capable of driving through almost everywhere. It is completely a design-oriented exercise, which is why it should not be made production ready in the near future. However, Mercedes has hinted towards the monster car being powered by hydrogen powered cells.

The Ener-G was definitely an enviable model and someone from India found it just too inspiring to resist. The person has sacrificed his Tata Xenon pick-up truck to sync its looks with the butcher looks of the Ener-G. The concept car from Mercedes has been ideally copied in the front end, with the dual headlamp clusters, the domed bonnet and even the three-pointed star logo. However, all the hybrid design has slightly placed it off-gear and almost looks like an ill-tasted spoiler.

When you come to the sides, the Ener-G has been copied even there with the wheel arches being accurately represented. Meaty off-road Maxxis Boghorn tyres complete the look by filling the arches. The rear side is not at all done properly however it covers up the loading area nicely. The tail-lamps look borrowed from Wagon-R and it looks slightly on the tackier side. Definitely, the build-up is a far cry from the LA designers, but the dedication and love for Mercedes is surely to be appreciated.
