According to a report, Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch the 450 AMG Sport in the Indian market. Unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show, the Mercedes-Benz 450 AMG Sport will be positioned below the C63 AMG, and above the CLA 45 AMG. It will be brought to India via CBU (completely built up) route.
Power for the 450 AMG Sport will come from an upgraded version of the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 367bhp and 520Nm of torque. Transmitting power to all four-wheels will be a 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission, coupled with the 4MATIC AWD system. This performance car will be able to attain 0-96kmph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph. Braking power for the 450 AMG Sport will come from 360mm front and 320 rear ventilated steel disc brakes. Coming to the design, the 450 AMG Sport features a new front grille, modified front bumper, wing mirrors with dark surroundings, darkened exhausts and a boot-lip spoiler.
Besides the C 450 AMG Sport, Mercedes-Benz India is also planning to launch a couple of new cars by the end of 2015. The cars that the German luxury carmaker will bring-in here are the S-Class, S500 Coupe, S63 AMG Coupe, B-Class facelift, Maybach, AMG GT sportscar, MLC-Class Coupe-SUV, etc. The company has registered an year-on-year growth of 43% for the period of April – June, 2015 with total sales of 6, 659 units.
