Maserati, a well known name in the field of super luxury cars, showcased its much talked about Kubang Concept SUV (sports utility vehicle) at the ongoing auto expo in Frankfurt. It is not the first time when the company has displayed the concept of Kubang SUV as earlier it was unveiled at the New York auto expo in 2003, but this time around, the model looked closer to its production version. The company is expected to roll-out the SUV in the market very soon.
The company said in a release issued at the occasion, "style, engine, suspensions, brakes, handling and performance will all be 100% Maserati in picture-perfect continuity with the brand's core values of sportiness, style, elegance, luxury, performance and craftsmanship."
This is the first time, when company is planning to roll-out an SUV in the market as so far it has been rolling-out sedans, coupes and convertibles in the global market.
The Kubang SUV is expected to be blessed with the proprietary engines of Maserati that will be designed by Paolo Martinelli in Modena. Mr. Martinelli, Head of the Maserati Powertrain Department also served as the engine chief of the Formula One racing team.
The new SUV will be equipped with a 8 speed automatic transmission and the Maserati Product Development Department will be specially and exclusively developing the suspensions, brakes, steering.
