      About Maserati

Maserati, the Italian sports car manufacturer, is a subsidiary of well-known Italian car maker Fiat. Its foundations were laid in 1914 in Bologna by five Maserati brothers. The company is reckoned from a century for its contribution in sports car culture and development. In hundred years of its existence, the Italian brand registered a glorious history in its profile over both race tracks and roads. Its base camp is located in Modena and it uses a trident as its emblem. It was acquired by Fiat S.p.A in year 1993. The Italian car maker designs, engineers, manufactures, and distributes its sports cars all across the world.

Maserati made its debut in Indian automotive market in year 2011 but retracted two years later.  However, considering the rising demand of its cars in India it decided to touch Indian strings again in July 2015 and also announced opening of its three state-of-the-art dealerships in our country. Maserati is selling all its models in India which includes Ghibli Diesel, Quattroporte GTS petrol, Quattroporte diesel, GranCabrio, and GranTurismo.

      Executive Management

The key person responsible for all Maserati operations and decisions in India is Mr. Bojan Jankulovski, Head of Operations, India. He takes responsibility for all decisions and activities for Maserati in India.

      Products And Services

Maserati recently announced its three dealerships from where it will be possible for buyers to purchase its cars in near future. The three outlets are: Bagga Luxury Motorcars LLP in Mumbai, AMP Supercars Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi, and Jubilation Autoworks in Bangalore. These dealerships will be bestowed with all Maserati pre-sale and after sales services.

      Founder & First Car

The brand Maserati was set up by five Maserati brother: Ettore, Emesto, Carlo, Bindo, and Alfieri in December 1914. The eldest among them was Carlos who was also a mechanical genius and used to build single cylinder engines for cycles used in races. He started his career with Fiat and later worked for Junio Car Company.  He passed away at a early age and his brother Alfieri later took on his automotive pat manufacturing work ahead in 1910. The emblem for the company was designed by their sixth brother Mario Maserati. The symbol remained Maserati’s logo for more than 8 decades. In 1932, when Alfieri died, the remaining three brothers took over the company and were already on their way to building sports cars. The first Maserati car was manufactured in 1926 which also won the 1926 Targa Florio. In 1937, the three brothers sold the company to Adolfo Orsi and its manufacturing unit was relocated in Modena. During the Second World War the Italian car maker halted production of its car. Post the war, it came up with the Maserati A6 series that was very successful in market.

      Environmental Initiatives

Maserati is yet to introduce any of its electric, hybrid, or alternate fuel based vehicle to the world or India. However, the company has confirmed to introduce its first plug-in hybrid by 2017. The 2015 Geneva motor show witnessed the announcement for hybrid version of Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante SUV.

Maserati cars in India are mainly adored for their exclusivity and excellent performance. Its race cars are known for their powerful performance. Its buyer group mainly consists of those affluent motor enthusiasts who are looking for some serious fun over race tracks and roads.

      Resale Value

Since all Maserati has re-entered in Indian automotive market recently, it would be too early to comment or estimate their resale esteem.

Maserati, the Italian sports car maker, will be facing a close rivalry in India from Lexus, Mercedes-benz CLS, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and a few others.
