Last year Maserati proudly unveiled a special edition of the Quattroporte sedan at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Quattroporte Sport GT S has gone through an upgradation in the form of 433 horsepower, a worked-upon suspension, a sports exhaust and changes in the overall styling of the car.

According to Maserati, the revamping of the engine lets it deliver a power of 433 hp, an advancement of 8 hp over the 425 hp produced by Quattroporte S. The transmission software has been reprogrammed tin order to ease out the shifting process further.

To provide this luring sedan with a perfect handling, Maserati has compressed the springs and axed the ride height and, in order to make what Maserati calls a "deep, throaty sound," a part of the GT S, the vehicle features a sports exhaust.

The seats bear a stylish looking “M” that is also seen on the back seats, which also finds a place at the top of the dash and in the front grille. The central areas of the seats are upholstered in perforated Alcantara suede, for maximum in and out movement of the air and improved grip to support the time of off-road conditions. Alcantara is also a part of the door side panels, the front armrest, the steering wheel and the gear lever knob.

The interior finishing on the Sport GT S is what the auto maker refers to as the "celebration of technology and workmanship." The material used in the interior areas of the car is TitanTex, an ultra-lightweight aluminium-coated titanium fibre fabric, made even more unique by specific processing. It helps in offering the material with an advance, class apart look, while being extra shiny and providing a three-dimensional overall appearance to the GT S.

The transmission shift paddles, mated with the steering column, have finely designed chrome finish and are elongated to provide a decent grip at the time, the steering wheel is turned.

Aluminium pedals are available as optional accessories, which are designed specifically for a luxurious driving experience and to boost agility in movements of the brake and accelerator pedals.

Apart from the standard dual-zone climate control, the state-of-the-art Bose multimedia system gets incorporated in this one. The sound system comprise a hard-drive based satellite navigation system, a CD player, an iPod connection, a 30GB hard disk for storing mp3 files, satellite radio, voice control, Bluetooth connection, and a USB/AUX-in connection that doubles as a USB reader.

Traction control, stability control, anti-lock brakes, brake force distribution, and anti-slip regulation systems are a part of the GT S, which boosts the safety and handling aspect of Quattroporte Sport GT S.

An automated 'Sky hook' suspension helps in adapting to the road surface and driving style.

At the exterior, the Quattroporte Sport GT S gets red accents, new headlamps in a metallic titanium finish and shadow-line finishing.
