With the worker’s strike over at its Manesar plant, the Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki is all set to raise the production of its most popular premium hatchback Maruti Swift by as much as 40 percent. The decision has been taken in a bid to raise catch-up with the massive backlog of bookings of Maruti Suzuki Swift in the county. In just 45 days of its launch, the company has received over 1,08,000 bookings for the all new Swift.

Moreover, the firm has said that it will commence the full fledged production at its second Manesar plant. While informing about the company’s plans of enhancing Swift’s production, a senior company official said in a statement given to ET, "This will help us increase the output of Swift to 17,000 units a month from our historical highs of 12,000 units a month."

The standoff between workers and management ended on Sunday when workers agreed to sign the ‘good conduct bond’ brought by the company management. The end of strike just a few weeks before the Diwali festival season, came as a big relief for the car maker. The firm now looks forward to deliver a good number of Swifts in the ongoing festive season.

Besides Swift, the production of mid-size sedan SX4, and Maruti’s flagship exports model A-Star will also be resumed to the normal levels.
