Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the largest car maker in the Indian market that is currently struggling with worker’s strike at its Manesar plant, is believed to be planning to replace its existing employees with new employees at the troubled plant. The decision is understood to have been taken after the firm sees no sign of an end to the ongoing standoff.

The trouble at Manesar plant started on 29th August when the workers refused to sign the ‘good conduct bond’ forced by the company to ensure that no recurrence of quality related issues take place. Since then, the production at this plant is almost on a halt.

According to recent media reports, the company has given a time limit to workers to sign the agreement; otherwise they would be replaced with the newer ones. The industry reports add that the firm will start hiring process of new technicians from Tuesday, who will be replacing the striking workers.

Meanwhile, the company has been forced to stop receiving bookings for its recently launched Swift hatchback, as its production has been severely hit by the ongoing strike. As per an estimate, the waiting period for the new Maruti Swift could well reach over six months if the issue is not resolved soon at the Manesar unit.

The company, however, is yet to come-up with an official statement in this regard. Meanwhile, the state government has said that it is ready give full support to Maruti to resolve the issue.
