For month now, word has been abound on the internet of a six-seat crossover based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The car has now been leaked and its official name will be the XL6 and it will be retailed via the Nexa chain.
In the pictures we can see that it will retain the basic silhouette of the Ertiga but is expected to come with six-seat layout (hence XL6). This is expected to be achieved via captain seats for the second row. In the photos, we can see blacked out C and D pillars as well as the signature Nexa blue shade that is available with the Ignis as well as the Baleno hatchback. Also visible is the silver coloured faux bash plate element at the rear and of course the Nexa badging.
It is expected to retain the Ertiga’s engine and gearbox options and this means both the 1.5-litre diesel as well as the 1.5-litre petrol. Both make use of a five-speed manual while the latter also gets a four-speed automatic. Both engines will be offered with Suzuki’s SHVS technology.
The XL name was previously used on a long wheelbase version of the previous generation Grand Vitara and had 18-inches additional length over the standard Grand Vitara.
