Major technical changes are not expected this time around, the changes would probably be cosmetic in nature. The fresh version is expected to carry current generation Maruti Suzuki Swift's 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine, whereas the diesel variant shall be powered by the existing 1.3 litre engine. The existing motor in this car is refined and responds well to feet-tapping on the accelerator pedal owing to 16-valve light weight DOHC technology. The petrol version delivers a decent fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl. The diesel version has got a 5-step Multi Injection Common Rail system the delivers better fuel efficiency figures and performance. Moreover, the car loaded with a perfect Turbocharger and Inter-cooler Combination delivers higher torque, efficient combustion and cleaner emission. The diesel version delivers an impressive mileage of 22.9 kmpl.

Design has always been impressive since it launch in the country. The exteriors sport enhanced dimensions that makes it distinctive and stronger. The aerodynamic lines delivers impressive maneuverability at high speeds. The headlamps may probably receive daytime running lamps this time around and it is being said that, the ORVM's may also sport integrated turn lamps. The Swift hatchback's cabin space has been stated to be noise-free. Interiors of the new Swift feature more-or-less a similar pattern. The interiors are fairly decent with a black theme. The rear-seat legroom has been increased in comparison to the older model. Seats have also undergone changes with a good thigh and back support. A well designed chassis and improved suspension delivers a smoother ride in our unpredictable local road conditions.

Maruti Suzuki has decided to be tight lipped with the new launch, hence detailed report on pricing and technical specifications is not known for now. Sources have also hinted on a possibility of an AMT transmission being mated to this fresh hatchback.
