On its positioning exclusively for the Indian buyers, Mr. S Nakanishi, Managing Director and Chief Executive at Maruti Suzuki India, said, The Ertiga is a major step forward for Maruti. Many urban families are now looking for a vehicle that offers more space and flexibility than a sedan, without being bulky, bland and expensive like a utility vehicle. The Ertiga is designed for these customers."

The company has also planned to commence exports of the Ertiga to its high potent market at Indonesia by the end of the next month. The company officials have announced that the exports will be made as a Completely Knocked Down Unit that will be assembled at their assembly plant in Indonesia.

The automaker is further anticipating that the sales of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be majorly contributed by diesel run cars resulting from the increasing preference among the fuel price conscious Indian buyers for such cars.
