A brand new sedan from the house of the leading automobile brand, Maruti Suzuki, is set to hit the streets. This car, Ciaz, as it has been named, is designed for those customers who are looking to get a great deal for their money. It is expected that this car will be one of the best-selling models and is designed based on the Authentics Concept, which was brought forward at the Delhi Auto Show in February, 2014.

The Ciaz is basically a B-segment sedan due to its dimensions. It has a 2650 mm wheelbase, with 4490 mm length, 1730 mm width and a height of 1485 mm. However, the car maximised interior space as a result of shortening of overhangs. The impressive 510 litres of boot space is also impressive. All in all, the car has been given a much capacious outlook in the interior, though it does not have a stark huge appearance from the outside.

Apart from this, the car has a number of premium features including all-round electric windows, a push-button start, a fully equipped touchscreen infotainment system, fake wood inserts for the dashboard, upper door panels and leather seats. All of these for making a comfortable driving experience in this car. The model runs on a Fiat-sourced 1.3 litre Multi-jet engine, which is capable of generating 90 PS at an impressive 4000 rpm. The torque output is of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. To experts, this might not be that great, though Ciaz has been tipped to become the most economic car in India. The 26.21 kilometres per litre released might be the first in ranks as far as efficiency is concerned. In a world, where fuel prices are unexpected, it is great that Maruti has tried to make it better for the customers.

Alternatively, the Ciaz will also feature a petrol engine, delivering around 92 PS at 130 Nm of torque. The mill is mated with a 4-speed manual gearbox, which is 5-speed manual in the diesel variant.
