Maruti all set to launch its Ertiga on 12th April 2012-Details Revealed

Maruti Suzuki India limited, the largest car maker in India, has now decided to shift in other potential segments of auto industry after performing well in the sedan as well as hatchback segment. Owing to this, the company is all set to introduce its Ertiga, a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in the market, by the end of April 2012. The car already made its presence in January at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. Since the car will be placed in compact MPV segment, the company has provided it with length of 4275 mm, width of 1695 mm and height of 1685 mm.

In order to cater the demands of large number of buyers, the company will offer its Ertiga in both petrol as well as diesel engines. The petrol version holds a 1.4 litre K14B VVT engine that has a displacement of 1337 cc. Maximum power churned out by this engine is 93 bhp at 6000 rpm, while it attains peak torque of 130 Nm at 4000 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel version will be provided with D13A DDiS super turbo engine, which has a displacement of 1284 cc. The peak power attained by this engine is 88 bhp at 4000 rpm whereas the torque generated is 200 Nm at a fairly low 1750 rpm.

To assist these power packed engines of Ertiga, the company has assimilated a five speed manual transmission system in both the versions. This efficient gearbox of this car allows smooth as well as hassle-free switching of gears that also enables the engine to deliver a decent mileage. The engine of Ertiga will help it deliver an average of 16.02 kmpl on the city roads, whereas it will provide mileage of 20.77 kmpl on the highways.

Apart from a powerful engine, the car also has other features that signify its impressive performance. The power assisted steering wheel of Ertiga is efficient and provides complete control of vehicle in the hands of driver. Moreover, the car is provided with MacPherson suspension systems at the front portion and torsion beam system at the rear end, which enables it to smoothly glide over the Indian potholes. In order to add to the performance of this car, Maruti Suzuki has increased the spring ratings and has stabilised its dampers, which enables the car to prolong high load capacity.

Maruti Ertiga also boasts of numerous safety features, which will ensure complete safety of its passengers. The advanced safety features packed within the car includes Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Break-force Distribution (EBD) and twin SRS airbags. As far as price of this car is concerned, it will range from Rs. 6.5 lacs to Rs. 9 lacs.
