Maruti is all set to roll out its latest hatchback model Maruti A Star in India in mid-November. It is a new global strategic model developed by Maruti Suzuki that now aims to retain its position as a leading manufacturer and exporter in India. Maruti will manufacture 100,000 units for the domestic car market and 50000 units for exports to nearly 150 countries around the world. A Star is the eight model in 40 months from Maruti Suzuki that has been launched as global strategic model to boost company sales and its product portfolio. Suzuki is keen to re-enter European market with its new model and occupy larger market share in Europe.
The new Maruti A Star in India shall come with 1litre K-series engine to deliver superb performance and more fuel efficiency. This power terrain designed by Suzuki engineers has a capacity of 996cc and will conform to BS-III emission norms. It will compete with Hyundai i10 and Tata Indigo CS in the A2 car segment where the company presently enjoys 55 percent market share. It will be available in 3 variants and is prices around Rs. 3 lakh and upwards.
