"We realized that at light loads on the DTS-i, an opportunity existed to improve the combustion even further. When burning lean Air-Fuel mixtures through the two spark plugs, the combustion conditions could be further improved by generating high turbulence in the combustion chamber. Once the solution was arrived at, the design and geometry modifications followed," says Abraham Joseph, Head of R&D, Bajaj Auto Ltd.

The company aims to target customers to opt for superior 125cc products who currently opt for 100cc bikes due to price factors. India continues to be an extremely price sensitive market It is currently priced at Rs 39,000 (ex-showroom).
