After achieving a runaway success in the Indian auto market, the much demanded Mahindra XUV 500 model is all set to mark its debut in a number of foreign markets including Chile, Italy and Australia. After focusing on the demand of this SUV in the in the domestic market in the initial 6 months of its launch in the country, the company is all set to introduce the XUV500 in overseas markets where there is high growth potential for this segment of vehicles.
Speaking to PTI on the matter of exporting XUV500 from India, Mr. Ruzbeh Irani, Chief Executive of International Operations (Automotive & Farm Equipment sectors) at M&M, said, "We plan to go ahead with our international launches of XUV. Italy and Australia are planned shortly. These are vehicles adapted to the needs of these markets."
The company has already completed the required adaptations like left hand drive and necessary changes to meet the safety and emission norms. However, M&M is yet to decide upon the timeline of the launch of SUV 500 in the foreign markets. While the Chile and Australia on the priority list of the company, Italy will be later included in the list of exporting markets of SUV500.
