      Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) have carved a niche from themselves in Indian and if there is one company that embodies the perfection on how to manufacture them, it is Mahindra & Mahindra. One of the best models manufactured by the firm is the Mahindra XUV500, a top class performer and hugely successful model that has earned plaudits from both critics and customers alike.

      Mahindra XUV500 is all that a customer could perhaps want in an SUV in terms of appearance, performance, solidity, pricing and mileage.       Mahindra XUV500 W4 is low-end version of this SUV and was launched in the year 2013, keeping in mind the market conditions. Powered by a 2.2-litre 16-valve mHawk diesel engine, this car produces an output of around 140 bhp along with peak torque of 330 Nm. A seven seater, Mahindra XUV500 offers a mileage of around 12 kmpl in the city and 15 kmpl on the highway.

      Though the W4 is present in the market, the real market of Mahindra XUV500 is covered by the W6 and W8 variants. Both are quite advanced technologically advanced, featuring micro hybrid technology, integrated music system, built-in infotainment system, intelligent light sensing headlamps, digital immobiliser and smart rain sensing wipers. Tyre tronics, GPS navigation with touchscreen and audio support and 6-inch infotainment display are features present just in the Mahindra XUV500 W8 version.

      Safety is an important feature in an SUV and both Mahindra XUV500 W6 and W8 have top class security levels as per Indian conditions. Dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, tubeless tyres and crumple zones for crash protection are present in both variants. The Mahindra XUV W8, in addition, boasts of Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with rollover mitigation and Hill Hold and Hill Descent control. The mechanical configuration of all three variants of this is the same in terms of power generation.

      Some of the best features of Mahindra XUV500 include All Wheel Drive, monocoque construction, suspension and dual mass flywheel. In terms of convenience, this car offers features like voice commands, follow me-home headlamps, flexi seat configuration, lend-me headlamps and cool box on centre console. To summarise things, Mahindra XUV500 is one of the best SUVs in the market at the present and it offers that an Indian customer wants including the price.
