      Mahindra XUV 500 spotted undergoing road test, likely to get an automatic variant

      Style, performance and muscle is indeed what defines Mahindra's XUV500 cars in the country. Loaded with features and looks to die-for, the SUV indeed is a hot favorite in the SUV segment in the country. For a while reports have been flowing-in stating that Mahindra may launch the upgraded trim sometime soon, and this time around sources have indeed managed to capture spy shots of the vehicle undergoing road test in the country.

      The XUV 500 that was spotted undergoing test is likely to be continued with 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that is capable of generating about 140 bhp of power at about 3,750 rpm and a peak torque output of about 330 Nm at 1,600-2,800 rpm. Earlier this year, Mahindra had showcased the diesel-electric hybrid trim at the auto expo event and it is likely that Mahindra may launch the new technology in the upcoming face-lifted trim. Moreover, report of an automatic transmission being worked upon cannot be denied too.

      As part of fresh upgrades, the SUV is likely to sport a newly designed alloy wheel and a reworked front fascia. Apart from cosmetic upgrades, you may also expect interesting upgrades in the interior section of the vehicle that shall further render it an upmarket look. XUV 500 being a stylish SUV offering from Mahindra, the new design is indeed expected to do well.
