Suzuki Motorcycle India that recently removed the Inazuma from its official website, is now planning to officially discontinue the product. If reports are to be believed, the two-wheeler maker will officially discontinue this sports bike from the Indian market in March 2015.

The Suzuki Inazuma was launched at a hefty price of Rs. 3.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and it failed to create any buzz in the market. The vehicle also failed to generate volumes for the maker. With this price tag and old-fashioned styling, the Inazuma could never manage to attract consumers. In-fact the company did slash the prices of this entry-level performance motorcycle by Rs. 1 lakh, thus making it more affordable. However, buyers didn’t have much for this bike. Finally, the company decided to remove this bike from its Indian portfolio.

The Suzuki Inazuma comes in India as a completely-knocked down (CKD) unit. It is propelled by a 248cc parallel twin engine that churns out a maximum power output of 24bhp and a peak torque of 22Nm. This engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox. The bike competes against the likes of KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300, which offers better value for money to its buyers. Adding to it, the Duke with single cylinder engine offers almost 35 per cent more power than the Inazuma.
