      Mahindra to launch six new vehicles in India during FY12

      Mahindra & Mahindra, the leading Indian utility vehicle maker, has announced at the Delhi Auto Expo that it will launch at least six new portfolio models in the Indian market by year 2013. The upcoming vehicles of the company will include a new compact version of the entry level sedan Mahindra Verito and a new compact sports utility vehicle.

      Speaking at the occasion, Mahindra & Mahindra President (Automotive and Farm Equipment sector) Pawan Goenka said, "Between now and the end of the next fiscal, there will be six new models from us. These should strengthen the success we have had so far."

      According to Mr. Goenka, the company is planning to launch new Mahindra Reva NXR electric car, Ssangyong’s Rexton and a new brand Mahindra SUV by Diwali Festive season this year. Moreover, the firm will roll-out a new van based on the platform of its popular Maxximo commercial vehicle. Mr. Goenka added, "The sub-four metre Verito will allow us to take advantage of the excise duty benefit small cars."

      The major attractions at the Mahindra Pavilion include the newly launched XUV500 model, global portfolio models of Mahindra’s South Korean Subsidiary Ssangyong, etc, which are receiving an overwhelming response from the car enthusiasts and visitors.
