It seems like the Indian subsidiary of General Motors has decided to make the most of the huge excitement at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The company has showcased a series of its future products at the expo including the much anticipated Chevrolet Sail hatchback and sedan, Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3, Chevrolet Captiva 2.2 AT, much popular electric car Chevrolet Volt etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. P Balendran, General Motors India Vice President Corporate Affairs, said "The MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) will be launched in India by the end of this year and the hatchback will be commercially rolled out by June-July this year."

The company has said that both new India portfolio models of the firm will be rolled-out in both petrol and diesel versions. The company added that it will position these new products very competitively, in a bid to achieve considerable success among the cost conscious Indian buyers. The power-trains of both of these models will be produced at the firm’s Talegaon plant.

While speaking on the company’s future expansion plans, Mr. Balendran said, "The plant at Halol currently has a capacity to produce 85,000 units and it is being expanded to one lakh ten thousand units."

Moreover, a flying Chevrolet Beat is proving a major crowed puller at the Chevrolet Pavilion during the auto expo.
