Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to launch the much anticipated compact SUV, S101 in India by the second half of 2015. The company has selected Tamil Nadu as the new venue to set up a new manufacturing unit. An official announcement on the same is expected to be made in a couple of months. The upcoming S101 Compact SUV will be rolled out from the same manufacturing unit.
Mahindra will launch a series of new products as well as facelifts in the Indian market, which includes a mid –size SUV (Codenamed S102), XUV500 automatic, Quanto AMT and others. The S101 has already been spotted several times during its test mules in the country. It will directly compete against the Ford EcoSport and is likely to be priced around Rs. 5-8 lakh.
The Mahindra S101 will share its styling cues with XUV500 SUV and it will be put on sale alongside the Quanto as the entry level sports utility vehicle. The vehicle will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise- A 1.5-litre diesel and a new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
