Mahindra Reva, the electric car manufacturing arm of the country’s largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra and Mahindra has intended to roll-out as many as 5 new car models in the Indian market. The new models will be launched in the country over the period of next 4 years. Out of these five new Mahindra Reva portfolio models, three will be on Mahindra platform while the other two will be on Reva platform.
The first one in this line-up will be the four-seater Reva NXR which will be launched in the country during the upcoming Diwali festive season. The NXR model is expected to be launched with a new name and in the price segment sub Rs 6 lakh.
Speaking to the Business Standards, Chetan Maini, chief technology and strategy officer, Mahindra Reva, said, “We are currently working on five models for launch in the next four years. Our aim is to launch one new vehicle or a new variant every year till 2016. We are right now doing the trial run of Mahindra Verito, Gio and Maxximo from the Mahindra platforms.”
