One of the most eagerly awaited action flicks for 2013, Dhoom 3 is to portray Aamir Khan in a negative role for the first time. The 47-year old actor is known to be training hard for this role, which promises to be a high octane fare. He is expected to be riding around on Chicago streets on a BMW 1300R motorbike.
In the first edition of Dhoom, actor John Abraham was seen zipping around Mumbai on a Suzuki Hayabusa and the latest edition promises to be no different. Aamir's ride, a black BMW 1300R is a naked super-sport bike, which was launched by BMW Motorrad in 2008. For safety purposes, the bike is fitted with technology such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and optional Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA II). Interestingly, for the film, the vehicle's height has been reduced slightly, as per Aamir's height. BMW 1300R is capable of accelerating to 100 kmph from rest in a mind blowing 2.8 seconds.
The engine of this monster is a 1293 cc traverse-mounted four stroke motor, which can produce a maximum power of 173 bhp at 9250 rpm. For generating a maximum torque of 140 Nm, the bike has to be revved at 8250 rpm. A 6-speed manual gearbox has been fitted to power this bike with a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. Power would definitely come in handy as Aamir may reportedly be chased by four police cars in a particular action sequence of this film. Though many would have expected the actor to do all his stunts himself, some of the dangerous ones will be performed by stuntman.
