Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country’s largest car maker, has officially introduced the automatic model of its Ritz hatchback with a price tag of Rs. 6.43 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The new variant, which incorporates a four speed automatic transmission system, has been offered with only petrol engine in VXi trim. Expressing the efficiency of its new model, the auto maker claimed a mileage of 17.16 kmpl.
The recently introduced variant is based on the facelifted model of Ritz, which sparkled at the Indian roads somewhere in September 2012. It is equipped with an identical 1.2 litre KB12 engine, which has been assimilated within the manual model of Ritz. This performance oriented engine churns out a maximum power of 84 bhp with a highest torque of 114 Nm.
Ritz is also available in diesel option, which is equipped with a 1.3 litre turbo diesel engine. However, it is incorporated with a five speed manual transmission and none of the company officials commented on incorporating an automatic gearbox in the same.
