At the ‘Honda RevFest’, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the much-anticipated CBR650F at Rs. 7.30 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). At the same event, the company also unveiled five sportsbikes, including the all-new CB Hornet 160R, 2015 CBR150R and CBR250R. The Honda CBR650F has been assembled with 14% localization (approx.) in India.

Honda’s first high-performance bike – the CBR650F – is powered by a 649cc, 4-cylinder, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) engine that puts out a maximum power of 84bhp and 62Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The bike measures 2,110mm in length, 755mm in width, 1,145mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,450mm. Its fuel tank capacity is 17.3-litres.

Braking power for the CBR650F comes from the 320mm twin-piston caliper front disc brakes and 240mm single-piston caliper rear disc brakes. It is also equipped with telescopic fork up front and swingarm monoshock strut rear suspension unit.

The Honda CBR650F, that claims to have 14% localization, will compete against the Benelli TNT 600 GT and Kawasaki Ninja 650, Triumph Street Triple and Hyosung GT650R in India.

On the other hand, the all-new CB Hornet 160R will replace the CB Twister. Powering the bike will be a 163cc, single-cylinder engine that also does duty to the Unicorn 160. This engine is capable to produce a maximum power of 14.5bhp and 14.61Nm of torque. Whereas, the 2015 CBR150R and CBR250R will receive minor cosmetic updates. Though, the engines of the CBR twins remain unchanged. The Honda CBR150R and CBR250R will continue to feature the 26PS, 249cc, 4-stroke SI and the 18.5PS, 149cc, single-cylinder engines respectively.
