      Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India witnesses marginal Two per cent rise in sales for July 2015

      Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India has reported that the overall sales in the month of July have increased by two per cent as compared to the sales in the same month last year. The company has been able to sell a total of 389626 units in July 2015 as compared to 381411 units in July 2014.

      However, the company witnessed a dip in the number of motorcycles sold in the month of July 2015. Honda sold 112037 units in 2015 as against the number of 148012 units in July 2014. Though, this was a black dot in respect to the motorcycles sales for the company, it more than compensated in the category of scooters. Honda sold a total of 259344 units as compared to their 2014 number of 215965 units. This also marked the company’s debut as the first two-wheeler manufacturer to sell such high a number of automatic two-wheelers in a single month.

      The export numbers grew slightly during the month of July at 18245 units from 17434 units during the same month same year. The company is currently looking forward to introduce premium category motorcycles to answer the growing demands of the motorcycle fraternity in India. It is expected to launch the new CBR650 on the occasion of Revfest event organised in Mumbai.
