      Lamborghini India records 21 per cent sales in 2012

      The Italy-based luxury car maker, Lamborghini has registered a growth of 21 per cent in the Indian auto market, during the last calendar year. During the period, the global sales of auto maker stood at 2,083 units, marking an increase of over 30 per cent. The credit of brilliant worldwide sales goes to several international markets, wherein the auto company received an impressive demand, including India.

      In an official statement, a senior official of Lamborghini was quoted as saying, “Automobili Lamborghini SpA increased worldwide deliveries to customers in 2012 from 1,602 to 2,083 units... strong demand continues for award-winning Aventador.”

      Expressing his views on the sales performance, the Chief Executive Officer and President of Automobili Lamborghini SpA, Stephan Winkelmann quoted, “In spite of ongoing worldwide financial and economic uncertainties, Lamborghini has delivered a very satisfying performance in 2012, confirming the strength of our product and commercial strategy.”

      In 2012, the Asia Pacific region accounted for 35 per cent of the total worldwide sales of Lamborghini. Although the international auto market is witnessing not-so-god times, the Italian auto maker expanded by 34 per cent in Europe, 53 per cent in US, 50 per cent in America and 46 per cent in Southeast Asia and Pacific.

      Reportedly, the auto company will continue working on the expansion of its product portfolio to register a brilliant growth in future as well. The company statement said, “The growth is driven by the first full year of sales for the new Aventador LP 700-4 (922 units), while the Gallardo confirms its status as the most successful Lamborghini ever with a stable performance compared to 2011 (1,161 units sold in 2012).”

      According to sources, the launch of Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster model is on the cards of luxury sports car maker, which is expected to sparkle at the Indian showrooms on January 25, 2013. The statement further said, “Initial pre-order expectations for this model have been exceeded and the order bank for both versions covers the next 15 months.”
