There has been a lot of speculation about the upcoming models of KTM, RC 200 and RC 390. Both the bikes have been scheduled to be launched on the 9th of September, 2014. However, as the specifications were out before the official announcement, the prices have been leaked likewise. The unofficial price of the RC 200 has been tagged at 1.72 lakhs INR; on the other hand, the price of RC 390 has been kept at 2.40 lakhs INR. Both the prices are according to the on-road Delhi rates and are subject to slight variations depending on the location of sale. Although, the sources were confirmed as from one among the top people at KTM, yet it is not sure whether these will be the actual values after the launch. Bajaj Auto will officially release the price of both the models on 9th September at the launch of the bikes. However, if these values, which have been revealed, are to be trusted, then it has to be admitted that the pricing has been done pretty aggressive. Bajaj Auto has definitely, kept in mind the increasing economy of the country and decided on the price tag. Incidentally, Bajaj Auto is already the sole leader in the market on the segment of 200-400 cc motorcycles.
It is expected that the RC 200 and the RC 390 will be a hit on the Indian roads. Both the bikes are based on the Duke models of the Austrian manufacturer that were among its most-selling motorbikes. The RC series bikes are the fully faired versions of the Duke models. If the price tags are to be trusted, there is a slight difference between the Duke and the RC series bikes. For example, the difference in price between the RC 200 and the Duke 200 is nearly 20000 INR. Similarly, the variation in prices between the RC 390 and the Duke 390 is approximately 44000 INR.
Putting into consideration the fact that the Duke 200 does not come with ABS while the Duke 390 comes with the same in India, it is expected that the RC models will follow the same path. The easiest way to differentiate the two bikes will be the front fairing, as the KTM RC 200 has been provided a black front fairing and the KTM RC 390 has been given a white one. It is expected that two bikes will do a great business in India after their launch on 9th September.
